Hi, i’m Sebastian!
Hi, I’m Sebastian — a Certified Athletic Therapist and Registered Massage Therapist (Candidate) at Plus Ultra Therapy in Pickering. I help people move better, recover with confidence, and build long-term strength through evidence-based, movement-focused care.
I work one-on-one in the clinic and also support full teams in high-pressure sport environments. Whether it’s sideline coverage or collaborative rehab in the clinic, my goal is the same: meaningful care that helps people return to the activities that matter most to them.
Why I Chose ATHLETIC THERAPY & MASSAGE THERAPY
Growing up as a provincial-level competitive swimmer and later a swim coach, I experienced firsthand how overuse injuries and chronic pain can impact performance and daily life. Those experiences shaped my approach to care and sparked my interest in Athletic Therapy and Massage Therapy. I focus on combining hands-on treatment with active rehabilitation to help people understand their bodies and return to strong, confident movement.
I hold a Bachelor of Kinesiology & Health Science with a Certificate in Athletic Therapy from York University, where I worked with varsity Track & Field and Cross-Country athletes. I’ve also served as Head Student Athletic Therapist for Centennial College’s basketball teams and currently work with the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA), supporting athletes through both acute injuries and long-term rehab.
I’m completing my Massage Therapy diploma at the Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy, allowing me to combine hands-on treatment with movement-based rehabilitation to support effective, patient-centred recovery.
My Training
I look at how the whole body moves, not just where it hurts. Your session will typically involve a structured blend of:
Manual Therapy: To improve mobility and decrease immediate discomfort.
Exercise Rehab: To restore strength, stability, and functional patterns.
Education: To equip you with the tools to maintain your own progress.
Advanced Modalities: When needed, I incorporate shockwave therapy, cupping, scraping, or electrotherapy to accelerate your results.
The Goal: Whether you’re an athlete or someone dealing with everyday pain, the goal is long-term improvement — not quick, temporary fixes.
My Approach
Outside the treatment room, you’ll usually find me lifting, skiing, in the winter, or exploring new restaurants. I’m a dedicated foodie with an Excel sheet full of spots I’ve tried — and spots I plan to try next.
When it’s time to unwind, I’m often catching up on anime or spending time with people close to me. Staying active, staying curious, and keeping life enjoyable are priorities I bring into my own routine and every treatment session.
